The future of Daniel Farke as coach of Borussia Moenchengladbach is under scrutiny after the desolate performance against Dortmund. Rumors circulate Farke will be fired and a new coach, Eugen Polanski, appointed from Gladbach’s youth team as a viable option.
The sports director of Gladbach, Roland Virkus, recently guaranteed Farke a job as Gladbach’s coach next season. Virkus and Farke are currently saddled with the responsibility of forming a new team next season. Since the match against Dortmund, Virkus is tight-lipped about the way forward. Gladbach can neither confirm nor deny the rumors about Farke.
Virkus in his former position as youth director of Gladbach, spoke in awe as far back as 2021 of Eugen Polanski, according to Rheinische Post, “he is positively equipped and totally ambitious. He wants to achieve something. A highly talented coach and has worked with the best coaches like Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann, Marco Rose and Adi Huetter. It can not get better than that.”
I wonder what is the next phase in Gladbach.
