There are signs that Ricardo Pepi will not comeback to Augsburg after on loan to FC Groningen. Currently, Augsburg officials are in last talks with PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord Rotterdam.
According to Augsbuger Allgemeine, Eindhoven was the first club that showed interest in gaining Pepi’s services. Feyenoord joined the ring recently. Both clubs are willing to pay the basic transfer fee of eleven million Euro.
Augsburg signed Pepi to ease the attacking problems of Augsburg. Unfortunately, he never blossomed in the Bundesliga. After six months without a goal, Augsburg loaned him to Groningen.
Pepi found his form in the Netherland’s Eredivisie, scored 12 goals, and returned to the US national team.
I reported recently that he ruled out returning to Augsburg. He feels let down and disrespected by Augsburg.
If the talks with either club by Augsburg come to fruition, it will end the “misunderstanding” between Pepi and Augsburg.
