Sebastian Kehl is a household name in Dortmund. He currently occupies the position of sports director of BVB Dortmund. The club extended Kehl’s contract, which was set to end in June 2025 to 2027.
Lars Ricken, the managing director, supports the contract extension, “Sebastian, and I have known and trusted each other for many years. Over the past few weeks, we have held intensive discussions about content, structures and economic issues and have now brought these to a positive conclusion. Our primary goal is clear: we want to be continuously represented in the UEFA Champions League in the coming years and play the necessary role in the Bundesliga. To achieve these goals, we will continue to join forces. As the sporting director, Sebastian has my full support in this endeavor.”
Kehl reacted positively to the latest development, “I am extremely committed to Borussia Dortmund and am delighted to be able to continue working for this great club. I feel the trust of our management in me as sports director and would like to thank Lars in particular for the good and constructive discussions over the past few weeks:”
It appears Dortmund emphasizes continuity with this move. I wish them luck!
